Care Navigator: APPLY NOW
DAC is currently seeking motivated Care Navigators to act as the first point of contact for members seeking support with health, education, housing, or wellbeing needs. Central to the role is building trusted and culturally respectful relationships with individuals and families, providing guidance as they navigate complex service systems, and working to remove barriers that prevent access to the support they deserve.
This is a Full Time Role based in Derby, WA.

The Role:
You’ll draws on your expertise in mental health, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), and holistic care to build trusted, culturally respectful relationships with members and help them access the right services at the right time, while also fostering independence, resilience, and community aspirations through practical support and referrals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Holistic Care Navigation – Provide trauma-informed, client-centered support by developing, implementing, and optimising individualised care plans that address complex needs, including mental health and AOD challenges.
- Continuous Client Monitoring – Track progress, provide timely guidance, and adapt care plans to ensure they remain responsive to members’ evolving needs.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration – Strengthen communication and coordination between GPs, mental health professionals, AOD specialists, and local community healthcare providers to deliver integrated, culturally safe care.
- Healthcare Outcome Optimisation – Build strong partnerships and apply proactive strategies to improve health, wellbeing, and overall outcomes for members.
- Program Development – Contribute to the launch, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Care Navigator Program, enhancing care models across the Dambimangari network.
About you:
You’re proactive, culturally respectful, and committed to client-centered care. You bring:
- 3+ years’ experience supporting clients with complex needs, including mental health and AOD.
- Strong case management skills, including risk assessment and planning.
- Knowledge of mental health services and referral pathways, especially in the Kimberley region.
- Lived experience or strong connection with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities (highly desirable).
- Ability to work collaboratively in integrated care teams.
- Empathic, innovative, and professional approach to client and community support.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Skilled in motivational interviewing and client engagement.
- Commitment to culturally safe, multidisciplinary care.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and record-keeping systems.
Qualification & Requirements:
- Qualifications and/or experience in community support, nursing, allied health, disability, mental health, or AOD.

- Proven experience in training and development, preferably within Aboriginal or community-based organisations
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver training programs for diverse stakeholder groups
- Ability to lead teams, manage projects, and drive continuous improvement
- Familiarity with youth and adult learning principles, instructional design, and evaluation methodologies
- Insight into wrap-around services which support successful workplace engagement

Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) is seeking a skilled and committed Vessel Master & Marine Operations Coordinator to lead marine patrols and back-to-Country trips along the spectacular Kimberley coastline. This is a unique opportunity to work on Country, support Indigenous Ranger development, and contribute to the protection of one of Australia’s most remote and culturally significant marine environments.
This Role is based in Derby, WA, relocation support is provided to the successful candidate.
About the role:
As DAC’s Vessel Master & Marine Operations Coordinator, you’ll provide expert leadership in remote marine operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and culturally respectful sea country patrols and back-to-Country trip. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate marine patrols and back-to-Country trips in remote Kimberley locations.
- Ensure vessel safety, compliance, and maintenance.
- Mentor and support Indigenous Rangers through accredited coxswains training and on-the-job development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to fee-for-service and conservation projects.
- Manage logistics, administration, and reporting for marine operations.
About you:
You’re a skilled marine operations professional with a strong sense of cultural respect and a passion for working on Country. You bring:
- At least 5 years’ experience in marine operations, including vessel handling, remote logistics, and skippering vessels such as the 10m GM Air Rider
- Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in remote marine environments
- Practical experience maintaining and servicing vessels, trailers, and marine equipment
- Strong understanding of vessel safety management systems, maritime compliance, and operational procedures
- Confidence operating in remote areas on extended expeditions with basic camping conditions
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities, particularly in the Kimberley, is highly regarded
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in planning, logistics, and administration related to marine operations
- Skilled in training delivery and capacity building

Male Community Support Officer
About the Role:
The Community Support Officer is responsible for the development and promotion of community programs that add value to the lives of and meet the needs of the Dambimangari community. This is achieved through engagement of partners and sponsors to fund and deliver programs, ensuring the best outcomes for Dambeemangaddee people.
The Community Support Officer will work closely with the CEO, Board and other key stakeholders of DAC to effectively promote and communicate programs to members and provide feedback on their effectiveness.
It is a genuine occupational requirement for the successful candidate to be Male in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) Section 27 and Section 50.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Seeking feedback from Dambimangari membership on key issues and communicating findings to the CEO for decision making by the Board.
- Working alongside Corporation staff and the CEO to improve communication with members including regular newsletter articles, face to face consultations, and regular updates from the Dambi Board & CEO to members.
- Supporting Dambimangari male Elders to improve their quality of life, including daily support, assisting with administration and finance, and connecting Elders with services.
- Assisting and guiding Elders through any applications processes for services, benefits, or government aid.
- Developing pathways to integrate Dambimangari members into succession planning for all DAC related affairs.
- Leading the delivery of, and active involvement in programs and services for young people and families within the Dambimangari community.
- Engaging youth to access services that build employment capacity and aid mental and physical wellbeing.
Desired Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:
- Relevant qualification in any discipline such as community development, social work, community leadership
- Demonstrated experience in a community development role, or experience as a community leader
- Extensive demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities
- Demonstrated experience in sourcing, applying for and acquitting funding
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting programs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
