Marine Park Administration Trainee: Apply
Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) is seeking a motivated Administration Trainee to provide essential administrative support to the Marine Park team. This hands-on role includes coordinating meetings, managing logistics and travel, handling communications, and providing general secretarial assistance. The trainee will also participate in structured training and development programs to build skills and experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to grow their career in administration while contributing to meaningful work and community development.
This is a Full Time Fixed-Term Role based in Derby, WA, running until the mid-July 2026, with the possibility of extension.

The Role:
You’ll play a key role in supporting our marine park operations and joint management activities. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate meetings, including travel, accommodation, catering, and preparation of meeting materials.
- Maintain strong communication and working relationships with DAC staff, partners, and community stakeholders.
- Provide basic administrative and finance support, including record keeping, timesheets, travel forms, and maintaining office systems
- Assists with preparing media and community communications to regularly update Dambimangari members
- Participate in a structured personal development plan including workplace exchanges, certifications and other relevant training programs.

Qualification & Requirements:
- Certificate II in Business Administration, or equivalent, is desirable or a willingness to complete the Certificate II.
- Ability to commit to 2 x weeks of workplace exchange with external stakeholders in Broome.
- Ability to commit to travel for on-country boat trips and fieldwork of up to 8 days, if required
- Experience working with Microsoft office, word, excel, PowerPoint
- An ability to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.

DAC is seeking a proactive and professional Receptionist to support our daily office operations. This role serves as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, while providing comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our workplace. The Role:
As DAC’s receptionist you’ll play a vital role in representing our corporation with professionalism and warmth. Key responsibilities include:
– Support member services with application processing and member communication.
-Greet visitors and manage incoming calls, directing queries appropriately.
– Maintain office cleanliness and readiness, including shared spaces and the boardroom.
– Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
-Handle incoming/outgoing mail and packages, maintaining accurate records, scan, file, and distribute documents to relevant staff and folders.

Vessel Master and Marine Operations APPLY
Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) is seeking a skilled and committed Vessel Master & Marine Operations Coordinator to lead marine patrols and back-to-Country trips along the spectacular Kimberley coastline. This is a unique opportunity to work on Country, support Indigenous Ranger development, and contribute to the protection of one of Australia’s most remote and culturally significant marine environments.
This Role is based in Derby, WA, relocation support is provided to the successful candidate.
About the role:
As DAC’s Vessel Master & Marine Operations Coordinator, you’ll provide expert leadership in remote marine operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and culturally respectful sea country patrols and back-to-Country trip. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and coordinate marine patrols and back-to-Country trips in remote Kimberley locations.
- Ensure vessel safety, compliance, and maintenance.
- Mentor and support Indigenous Rangers through accredited coxswains training and on-the-job development.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to fee-for-service and conservation projects.
- Manage logistics, administration, and reporting for marine operations.
About you:
You’re a skilled marine operations professional with a strong sense of cultural respect and a passion for working on Country. You bring:
- At least 5 years’ experience in marine operations, including vessel handling, remote logistics, and skippering vessels such as the 10m GM Air Rider
- Proven ability to lead and mentor teams in remote marine environments
- Practical experience maintaining and servicing vessels, trailers, and marine equipment
- Strong understanding of vessel safety management systems, maritime compliance, and operational procedures
- Confidence operating in remote areas on extended expeditions with basic camping conditions
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities, particularly in the Kimberley, is highly regarded
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in planning, logistics, and administration related to marine operations
- Skilled in training delivery and capacity building
- Competence in Microsoft Office and digital communication tools
Qualification & Requirements:
- Minimum Certificate II in Maritime Operations (Coxswain Grade 1 Near Coastal), with an ability to obtain Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Master up to 24 meters Near Coastal) “Master 5’’
- An ability to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance

Male Community Support Officer: APPLY
About the Role:
The Community Support Officer is responsible for the development and promotion of community programs that add value to the lives of and meet the needs of the Dambimangari community. This is achieved through engagement of partners and sponsors to fund and deliver programs, ensuring the best outcomes for Dambeemangaddee people.
The Community Support Officer will work closely with the CEO, Board and other key stakeholders of DAC to effectively promote and communicate programs to members and provide feedback on their effectiveness.
It is a genuine occupational requirement for the successful candidate to be Male in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) Section 27 and Section 50.
Duties & Responsibilities Include:
- Seeking feedback from Dambimangari membership on key issues and communicating findings to the CEO for decision making by the Board.
- Working alongside Corporation staff and the CEO to improve communication with members including regular newsletter articles, face to face consultations, and regular updates from the Dambi Board & CEO to members.
- Supporting Dambimangari male Elders to improve their quality of life, including daily support, assisting with administration and finance, and connecting Elders with services.
- Assisting and guiding Elders through any applications processes for services, benefits, or government aid.
- Developing pathways to integrate Dambimangari members into succession planning for all DAC related affairs.
- Leading the delivery of, and active involvement in programs and services for young people and families within the Dambimangari community.
- Engaging youth to access services that build employment capacity and aid mental and physical wellbeing.
Desired Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:
- Relevant qualification in any discipline such as community development, social work, community leadership
- Demonstrated experience in a community development role, or experience as a community leader
- Extensive demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal communities
- Demonstrated experience in sourcing, applying for and acquitting funding
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting programs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Cultural Understanding
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- C Class Driver’s License
- Working with Children’s Check and Police Clearance, or ability to obtain
